Former bankruptcy Judge Shelley C. Chapman mediated a $7.4 billion settlement in the Chapter 11 case of Purdue Pharma that received court approval last month. She spoke with Law360 about the pressure she faced to reach a deal and the 18-hour mediation sessions that came with renewed negotiations after the U.S. Supreme Court threw out a critical element of the agreement.
